Remote Sensing Specialist

WHO’S NEEDED

As a Remote Sensing Specialist, you will be responsible for the preparation, processing and visualization of spatial data for detection and classification problems on satellite, aerial and drone imagery. In this position, the individual will work with the project team, clients and funding institutions, as well as other company departments to deliver comprehensive research and development and/or implementation solutions.

WHAT’S THE JOB?

• Acquisition from online resources and visualization of satellite, aerial and drone data,
• Labeling of learning and validation image data, e.g., for classification or object detection problems, verification of labeling,
• Standardizing the format of image data, applying data preprocessing, calculating of environmental indices,
• Preparing reports of their work and actively participating in the preparation of summary reports,
• Active participation in team discussions on current and future projects,
• Actively participating in work to attract new clients and public funding.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Knowledge and practical experience in working with Earth observation data,
• Skills in visualizing multi-channel data, creating color compositions, calculating environmental indices,
• Ability to label features, make data consistent, and photointerpret phenomena and objects,
• Very good knowledge of the Polish language and knowledge of English at a communicative level,
• Ability to use GIS software, such as QGIS, in the above-mentioned areas.

APPRECIATED SKILLS:

• Knowledge and skills in working with ML algorithms for data classification, object detection, image segmentation, change detection,
• Knowledge and skills in the application of deep neural networks in remote sensing,
• Participation in research and development projects.
