In recent years, Earth Observation (EO) technology has made great progress, especially in object detection. EO data, mostly from satellite images, is now used in many fields like environmental monitoring and managing infrastructure. However, current object detection models still face challenges with accuracy, flexibility and global coverage. The EOImageNET project aims to solve these issues by creating a global, multi-scale database and developing advanced machine learning models to improve EO object detection.
